CMA Workshop on Carbon Abatement: Pioneering Decarbonisation in the Cement Industry

The CMA Workshop on Carbon Abatement in the Cement Industry brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and global experts to discuss cutting edge decarbonisation technologies. The workshop commenced with insightful addresses from Ms Aparna Dutt Sharma, Secretary General, CMA, Mr Saurabh Diddi, Director, Bureau of Energy Efficiency, and Dr Neelima Alam from the Department of Science & Technology. With insights from distinguished speakers and innovative solutions from Japan, India, Germany, and Switzerland, the event highlighted best practices for reducing emissions and enhancing energy efficiency. Thought provoking discussions and collaborative efforts underscored the industry's commitment to a sustainable future. A special note of appreciation goes to Dr Ashok Kumar, Deputy Director General, Bureau of Energy Efficiency, for his closing remarks, which reinforced the urgency of adopting innovative carbon abatement strategies. Both BEE and DST were highly appreciative of the dialogue being in place with CMA and looked forward to continued robust engagement with CMA for the abatement of carbon in the Cement sector. CMA remains dedicated to driving innovation and fostering partnerships to accelerate the Cement Industry’s journey toward net zero.
