What is cement

Cement is a fine-powdered substance used as an intermediate binding agent in construction activities.

Making of Cement

Cement manufacturing is an energy and resource intensive process. It involves closely controlled chemical reactions.

Making of Concrete

Concrete is a homogenous mixture of three basic components namely – Portland cement water and aggregate materials.

Cement Standards

Quality control is a very crucial aspect for businesses to establish minimum performance protocol and ensure strict adherence to the safety requirements.

Quick Setting Cement begins to set in 5 minutes of application and final set is achieved in 30 minutes. Useful for sites with high rainfall, underwater construction, and for the anchorage of rock bolt in tunnel & all underground works

Types of Cement

Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC)

The most widely used cement, particularly for general construction, reinforced concrete buildings.

White Cements

White Cement differs from OPC in its colour and fineness, and requires a higher kiln temperature to produce.

Portland Slag Cement (PSC)

This type of cement is prepared by suitably replacing a portion of OPC with finely GGBFS.

Portland Pozzolana Cement(PPC)

Pozzolans are a class of siliceous and aluminous materials which in the presence of water react with Ca(OH)2.

Oil Well Cement

Oil well Cement is designed for cementing offshore and onshore wells under high pressure.

Sulphate Resisting Cement

This type of cement is used for structural concrete where risk of deterioration due to exposure.

Rapid Hardening Portland Cement

This type of cement achieves high strength in relatively lesser time. It is best suited for construction.

Low Heat Portland Cement (LHPC)

It is a specially tailored cement that helps in avoiding formation of large cracks on the concrete surface.

Hydrophobic Cement

This type of cement is produced by grinding ordinary Portland cement clinker with water repellent film.
