18 Compressed Air Optimization & Utilization in Large Scale Integrated Cement Plants KK Sharma & Ketan Goel Invotech Industrial Solutions Private Limited ABSTRACT Within the challenges of energy transition and the reduction of consumption, the cement Industry plays a key role. The energy consumed in overall operation of cement plant accounts for a significant share of global energy consumption as cement industry is a Resource Intensive Industry. A first step towards the reduction of energy consumption is the realization of an energy audit. This audit is a detailed inventory of the energy performance of the systems in an industrial environment. An audit makes it possible to become aware of the quality of the energy installations and the daily behaviors and must provide personalized and quantified advice to consume energy in a more rational way. INTRODUCTION: Compressed Air System Compressed air system is one of the most important utilities of the plant, where the compressed air is widely used over all the sections of the plant. Compressed Air used in a cement industry serves as an aid in moving materials, tooling, manufacturing, and packing in process equipment’s. APPLICATIONS OF COMPRESSED AIR Compressed air is one of the most common resources in industry, used in a large number of applications. Ranging from conveying, tool powering, bag filter purging, actuating, agitating, to control systems, compressed air has a wide range of applications depending on the industrial requirement. Compressed air is used in our day-to-day activities, such as filling a tyre, sports equipment (football/ volleyball), air brakes and much more. Some of the applications of compressed air
