Page 61 Innovation to optimize Air Conditioner Energy Consumption- I. VFD & PLC Panel Room Air Conditioner Automation by PLC- It has been observed that many times Air conditioner temperature setting decreased up to 18 Deg C irrespective of heat dissipation by control panels. We have studied heat dissipation by panels and installed air conditioners capacity. To reduce heat load we varies with plant operation conditions, stoppage & shutdown, speed variation of Variable frequency drives. To monitor panel room temperature, room temperature sensor has been installed in such a way that all panel room temperature value can be displayed in Plant SCADA at centralized control room. Reviewed the room temperature of all panel rooms by SCADA trend and provided alarms at low & high temperature limit. As all air conditioner running not require at all the times so for auto operation from PLC, cable has been laid from air conditioner to remote input output panel which is connected to our PLC. Prepared its operation logic in PLC like when room temperature came above 30 DegC then air conditioner will start and when room temperature came below 24 DegC then air conditioner will stop.
