FROM THE CMA DESK I take pleasure in presenting the July-December 2022 edition of the CMA Journal CEMENT, ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENT. The CMA journal comes at a time when we usher in the New Year with hopes for faster growth with continued stability and also when India has assumed the G 20 Presidency, strengths and achievements to the world. COP 27 brings centre stage the world’s and each nation’s commitments to work towards creating a sustainable and greener world. The Indian Cement Industry, second largest globally with the lowest Carbon footprint worldwide in the Cement sector, is well placed to contribute to the Nation’s goals in this direction. Our Member Companies are striving for continual CO reduction in Cement manufacturing process. CMA is also planning a report on the subject outlining the present status of the Industry, the challenges, the policy and technological support that may be required in context to augment and fast pace its goals to contribute to India's ambitious Net Zero Carbon Target.
