towards increasing AFR usage under Phase- I, with the multi-stakeholder groups comprising Industry, Policy Makers, Regulators, Technology providers, Academia, etc. from across the world. The conference Main Theme was 'Towards Achieving Sustainable Growth & Lowering Carbon Footprint'. There were four Technical Sessions in the Conference carrying the Themes, {I) CMA-1/P Initiative on AFR:Setting the Stage, {II) Voices From Across the Globe, {Ill) Creating Win-Win Situations Through Regulatory Reforms, and {IV) Case Studies to Learn From, followed by a Concluding Session with the Theme, 'The Road Ahead'. 14 Technical Papers conforming to the above themes were presented in the Technica l Sessions by different National and International Experts over two days. The conference drew a huge success with active participation of more than 250 invitees and delegates from across the world , with most of them sitting through the two-day long conference till the curtain was drawn to a close. PARTICIPATION BY CMA IN INTERNATIONAL EVENTS i. Cemtech Asia, Jakarta 2013 The Annual Event of Cemtech Conferences & Exhibitions took place over 24- 27 June 2013 in Jarakt a, Indonesia, to focus on Asian cement market developments. Supported by the Indonesian Cement Association (ASI), the meeting attracted over 200 Cement professionals with some 30 regional Cement Companies. The event included a two-day conference programme, international exhibition, t echnical workshop and tour of Citeureup plant (one of the largest Cement Plants in the world with a capacity of 18 Mtpa of Cement Production) operated by PT lndocement Tunggal Prakarsa (part of Heidelberg Cement) and located at Bogar, some 45 Kms south of Jakarta. From CMA, Dr S K Handoo, Advisor (Technical) participated in the Conference and presented a paper on Low-Ca rbon Technology Roadmap for the Indian Cement sector. ii. India - Japan Workshop for "Promotion of Energy Efficiency & Conservation" Capacity Building under the PAT Scheme of BEE The above workshop was held in Tokyo, Japan, during 29 - 30 August, 2013. While the Japanese Team was led by Mr Yoshihiko Murasawa, Secretary General, The Energy Conservation Centre of Japan (ECCJ), the Indi an delegation, comprising of participants from the Industry sectors implementing the BEE' s PAT Scheme– Cycle I, was led by Mr K K Chakarvarti, Energy Economist, BEE. From CMA, Dr S K Handoo participated in the workshop, and made a presentation on Implementation of Performan ce, Achieve & Trade (PAT) Scheme in the Indian Cement industry and the industry's achievement s in energy efficiency improvements over the years. ***** ,.
