78 Further in another event, at “ 8th Exceed Occupational Health safety and Security Award and Webinar 2020” the Company was selected in gold category of award in cement sector for “Best practices in Industrial Security” that was conferred by Mr Santosh Gangwar, Former Minister of Labour and Employment (MOS independent charge) in a conference organised virtually. During the last two years of unprecedented challenges occurred directly or indirectly due to the pandemic, team UCWL came together to deliver on the purpose. The Company’s approach to social responsibility includes empowering the people to give back to the communities, operating the plant in ways that is socially responsible and environmentally sustainable. Social Resilience During the pandemic times UCWL extended its efforts under Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives, that helped create positive and enduring change in the society. From ensuring safe working conditions for its employees and assuring support to the community in case of any medical emergency, the Company adopted the path of resolve, to fight and come out of the pandemic situation in best possible manner. The Company organised camps for distribution of masks, made by the Women groups who are enrolled in certified Tailoring and Stitching courses under the CSR initiative, to public and in the nearby village areas. The local Government administration took note of such initiatives and conferred upon the Company an appreciation certificate for its exemplary work in strategic management of workforce ensuring their safety and well being during COVID-19 times. Further the Company was also bestowed with “Best Employer 2019 award for Certificate of Excellence” in the large-scale category by the Employer Association of Rajasthan, wherein the event was graced by presence of Mr Prasad Lal Meena, Minister of Industries, Government of Rajasthan for maintaining harmonious employer employee relations, effective productivity levels, occupational safety and health skill development, Innovation and Corporate Social Responsibility.
