Cement, Energy and Environment

3.0 CONCLUSIONS Nanocement improves the technical quality of the Portland cement, reduces cost of produc on due to the use of 70 wt.% mineral addi ves, 1.2–2 mes reduc on of the fuel cost, and 2-3 mes reduc on of emission of NO x , SO², and CO² per tonne of cement [72].Data were collected from the exis ng cement factories and u lized to analyze the economic indicators of Nano cement produc on. The proposed price suggested is more than the current price of cement in the market, since demand will change the price. So, by this proposed price, Nano cement is price compe ve with the ordinary Portland cement sold in the local market in March 2018[15] but considering future demands and proper marke ng strategies a breakeven could be obtained. Nano materials used in cement plant can also develop the construc on vision and provide the needs of specialized construc on as shown in Figure 2(b) and Figure 5(b). The impact of Nano cement does not stop at increasing compressive concrete strength but also on saving energy and protec ng the environment. It has been reported that nanocement can be used to produce 500–800 brands of high-strength concretes and 1300–1500 brands of heavy-duty concretes [18]. But, the nature of the construc on industry is such that it is easier to implement process innova ons, rather than product innova ons. Once, Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam [Ex- President of India (2002–07)] has aptly quoted that 'Four technologies are going to drive the future world and future India —biotechnology, nano- technology, informa on technology and environment technology' .With IT, India leads the world economy as the largest exporter, the other three (especially 'nano') also should not fall behind and it remains to be seen how India catches up fast with these magical three technologies for manufacturing compe veness and job genera on.
