Lerman and Darley (1975) reported no harmful effects of cement dust at levets from 1.5 to 1.5 glrn~/day but it causes shift in the soil alkalinity which may be fa\!Qfable to one crop but harmful to others. In this study· we have monitOf'ed green gram, cotton and soybean plants and found normal growth pattern in the soil nearest to OC i.e. zone A which is almost same as that of plants from zone B. Finally, we conclude that the fertility of soil and growth of P'ants could not get affected considerably when the proper system has been instaUed for the control of dust generated from cement manufacturing process.
