31 Figure 1 PC Coal Double firing New double firing point Old firing single point The above drawing shows the present condition of PC firing with double point connection (@ 180 deg direction location). This had helped in the complete blending of fuel with air mixture and hence combustion takes immediately. This has also resulted in uniform calcinedr temperature 2. Kiln Burning zone coating profile monitoring Kiln burner pipe alignment monitoring continuously to maintain a uniform coating profile in kiln. During a wide change in the kiln burner pressure profile, replaced the burner immediately with stand by burner to avoid kiln refractory damage. Kiln burner coal conveying co axial gap maintained uniformly to avoid the flame divergence. Due to this, we have Stable coating and continuous running of Kiln-3. Kiln burner % of primary air maintained at 8% to improve combustion efficiency and eliminate flame impingement on refractory. Kiln burner operating with high jet air pressure (6500 mm wg) and low swirl air pressure (500 mmwg) create a high flame momentum which will give a short, hard flame. This will stabilize the flame and give a short ignition distance. This will maintain the uniform coating profile at the burning zone area. Regularly process team measuring the burner conveying air quantity & pressure for monitoring the burner performance and adjusts the parameter if any variation of parameter. We are keeping flame momentum under control and also coal conveying velocity inside the pipe to assuring the life of burner and stability of kiln operation. Burner pipes metallurgy (Modified the coal channel B class to C class seamless piping) has been changed and replaced the same and hence, life increased resulting in replacement stoppage completely avoided. Burning zone coating profile monitoring through CCR shell scanner. Kiln shell cooling fans are kept in Auto mode operation to maintain uniform temperature on kiln shell to avoid frequent falling of kiln coating.
