The country's renewable energy development is demand driven, unlike in Europe that offers subsidies or bears losses incurred in displacing existing coal or nuclear power. The capital and operating costs of wind or solar projects are far lower in India due to inherent cost advantage and extensive competition, said the report titled 'Renewable energy's transformation of Indian electricity landscape'. "Lower costs, short development period and no threat of fuel ri sk or stranded capacity makes last five years, the annual amount of export is about 12 to 30 millions. The value of the export is between 700 million to 1 billion dollars," TUzUn said. $efik TUzUn also mentioned that the growth of cement sector was in parallel with the construction sector in Turkey, and this was backed by the urban transformation and infrastructure projects of the recent years. In th is context Mr. TUzUn also added that, they were working with Cembureau (the European Cement Association) to increase the usage of cement. Explaining that they are about the start a national concrete initiative project, TUzUn said that within the scope of the project, they have set the target to highlight the importance and contribution of concrete in social, economical, and environmental grounds, and on the development of sustainable construction techniques. Lower costs means an investor in India can set up more projects than say in the European Union to diversify risks," Price water house Coopers energy leader Kameswara Rao said. The country's considerations to meet energy demands, sustainability, energy security and lower costs are driving India's renewable energy growth. the report said. The industry estimates that Europe will add 109 GW of renewables by 2020 while India aims to add 140 GW to reach 175 GW by 2022. "This presents a compelling opportunity for developers and suppliers and is a major transformation opportun ity for the electricity policy and for power markets," The report, however, said the main buyers of renewable energy in India are state-owned distribution utilities, which are financially distressed and present risk of delayed payments.
