thrust of growth targeted irrespective of the present phase in which the Cement Industry is witnessing an unprecedented slow growth. While the outlook for the Cement Industry for current fiscal does not seem very promising it is hoped that with a slew of programmes announced by the Government of India such as creation of 100 Smart Cities, Housing for All by 2022, Dedicated Freight Corridors, Make-in-India, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, etc., the Industry would see better days in a couple of years assuming the Government Schemes on the Infrastructure front gain traction helped by timely release of funds. The good news for the industry is that Expert Working Group constituted by MOEF&CC to review and consider New Emission Standards has completed the deliberations and is learnt to have submitted its recommendations. The Cement Industry looks forward to its concerns being adequately addressed with a revised set of standards are issued by the Government of India. Hope you find the contents of this issue useful.
