Cement, Energy and Environment

About the Solar plant: As a part of capacity enhancement plan, in the year 2011 KCP established state of art 1.5 MTPA green field cement plant in Muktyala village, Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh. KCP has strong commitment towards energy conservation and renewable energy generation to secure energy for future generations and hence in the year 2012, KCP took an initiative towards solar and established the India's first captive solar power plant of 1.15 MWp capacity. This solar plant is located adjacent to cement plant with embedded electrical connection to cement plant loads @ 6.6KV in such a way that entire energy generated from solar plant will be consumed with in the cement plant as per the SLD shown in Fig: 1 &2. 132KV APTRANSCO Grid 6.6KV Bus 18.5 MW Load Cement Plant 132KV/ 6.6KV Transforrner 6.6KV/ 360V Step up Transformer 1.15 MWCPP Solar Generator 18MWCPP Thermal Generator Fig: 1: Conceptual Electrical Single Line Diagramme 132KV Fig: 2 Actual Electrical Single Line Diagramme of overall plant
