In the meantime Centaurus and similar products have reached the status of being critical for ensuri ng high product quality in cement production. This confirms the earlier statements regarding the demand for higher amount of samples to be analyzed and the increasing importance for process and quality control. The n ext s tep The 2"d generation product has now passed prototype testing and will be delivered to the first projects during 2014. Excellent sample preparat ion performance, unique 'grind only' or 'press only' functions, high flexibi lity for use in manual , semi-automatic and fully automatic applications are some of the features maintained from the 1 st generation product. New highlights for the 2"d generation version are re-designed cabinet enhancing service access for linea r configu rations, re– design of manual/automatic operat ion modes, air cooled grinding vessel and integrated operator panel. This redesign of the Centaurus concept has been based on the philosophy to keep the well proven core components and to improve where possible , also with production cost efficiency in mind. Furthermore, the changes were accompanied by an improved flexibility With respect to the use of Centaurus in various manual, semi-automatic and fully automated operation scenarios. There are now three different Centaurus packages for "Manual" standalone operation, an "AutoPrep" setup (l inear arrangement of the sample preparation and analytical equipment connected with conveyor belts) and Robolab setup (one central robot will distribute samples between the individual equipment units, just like an automated operator). All three packages will be configu red so that they can do the correspondi ng job as required and can be complemented with additional add-ons and options pending special automation and customer requirements, such as pressed pellet consistency check, mill or press only operation and in/output magazines.
