Reducing the LCC for dedusting with compact filters in the online mode Compact filters in the cement and stone/earth industries must provide high- the introduction of the pressure surge into the bag. Even with a higher air-to– cloth-ratio of 2.0 m 3 /(m 2 x min) and more, this enables a sufficiently higher internal bag pressure to be produced in the online mode, which ensures that the bag is completely cleaned. This is a prerequisite for the full functionality of the ProTex filter media, which are made out of extremely fine microfibres on the performance suction power at the source of the dust and one hundred percent availability even under changing operating conditions. All filter components must prove their sustained functionality Figure 2. Design features of the new ProJet smart® filter series filter face. This achieves not only much higher-than– average levels of filtration efficiency and ergo clean gas where the operating conditions are extreme and in the event of abrasive dust. The new filter series ProJet smart®(Figure 2.) also has inner values which offer the operator obvious additional benefits: The concentrations will below t he legal requirements, but also, most notably, a low differential pressure level during operation. In the lntensiv– Filter pilot plant station , it could be shown that - when using ProTex PES filter media - centerpiece of the filter, the filter bags and Figure 3. Comparison of energy costs for ProJet smart® vs.Jet-pulse compact filters with a conventional design. there was a reduction in the pressure loss (via the filter bag) of the cleaning system, exhibits a new technology that either enables a higher specific performance of the filter or a considerable reduction in the operating costs and thus the LCC for the dedusting filter. The specific performance constitutes the ratio of volume flow to the utilizable space of the filter. This value is proportional to the air-to– cloth-ratio, i.e. the ratio of volume flow to the filter area. The improvement in the air-to– cloth ratio possible in ProJet smart® is based on the use of the newly developed ProTex filter media generation in combination with the efficient "ideal nozzle" clean ing system. Here, the compressed air pulse flows - via openings formed with ideal nozzle geometry - out of the blast pipe and through an inlet nozzle into the filter bag. In comparison to other commercially available systems such as simple hole– type nozzles used in connection with Venturi inlet nozzles, there is a distinctly reduced loss of power with more than 50 per cent by contrast to standard needle felts (continuous operation in a semi-industrial filtering installation with 10 filter bags x 4 m length, [3]). In practice, a reduction of 40% in the mean pressure loss can be expected by using the filter, depending on the condition of the dust. Alternatively, the filter can be operated with an increased volume flow if the differential pressure is unchanged. Figure 3 show the savings on energy 48 -
