features FL Smidth automation and plant instrumentation system, fully-automated robot lab facility capable of sampling, transportation , sample preparation and analysis. FL Smidth Automation is to supply plant electrification and automation for KCP Ltd's 4500 tpd greenfield cement unit at Muktyala near Jaggayyapet, Krishna District in Andhra Pradesh. Vicat Sagar Cements have entrusted FLSmidth with civil design and structural engineering services for 2 Mta clinker unit and a 2.75 Mta cement grinding facility. Vicat Sagar Cements is a joint venture between the Andhra Pradesh– based producer and the Vicat Group. Its new plant is located in the Gulbarga District in the state of Karnataka, southern India. Several Indian cement producers are investing in alternative fuel handling systems from FL Smidth. One such system has been ordered by ACC Cements for its new Wadi plant. Handling a variety of alternative fuels, including high-moisture materials, the system will have a capacity of 20tph and yield a - 50 per cent calciner fuel substitution rate. Meanwhile, Grasim South , which is a unit of the Aditya Birla Group, has invested in a mechanical system for feeding alternative fuels. A mixture of paint sludge , rice husks and shredded tyres will be fed into the calciner, replacing about 42 per cent of the trad itional calciner fuel. Madras Cements Ltd will equip three factories in the province of Tamil Nadu with POLYCOM® cement grinding plants incorporating the latest Polysius technology. The RR Nagar factory is to be equipped with a POLYCOM high-pressure grinding roll and a SEPOL-PC high-efficiency separator. The POLYCOM is to be placed upstream of the ball mill already installed in the plant. The grinding plant will have a rated cement output of 250tph. The grinding plant at the Salem factory will also be upgraded by installing a POLYCOM and SEPOL-PC high-efficiency separator to produce cement at a rate of 230tph. The factory in Ariyalur is to receive a grinding plant comprising a POLYCOM, SEPOL-PC high-efficiency separator and a 1213.8m x 13.5 ball mill, resulting in a cement output of 230 tph. Birla Corp Ltd placed an order with Polysius for three new cement grinding plants for its Chanderia Cement factory in the province of Rajasthan, as well as for Satna Cement in the province of Madhya Pradesh. The two grinding plants installed at the Chanderia factory will each be equipped with a POLYCOM high-pressure grinding roll and a SEPOL-PC separator. The POLYCOM units are to be installed upstream of the ball mills already existing at the factory. Grinding plant I has a rated cement output of 315 tph, while grinding plant II has a rated cement output of 325tph . The Satna factory will also receive a POLYCOM high– pressure grinding roll and a SEPOL-PC separator. In combination with the existing ball mill, the POLYCOM will bring the grinding plant up to a rated cement output of 330 tph. Polysius has put a new 7000 tpd production line into operation at Gujarat Ambuja Cement Ltd's Rauri plant in Himachal Pradesh. The order included a tangential blending silo, the six- stage and two-string DOPOL '90 preheater with PREPOL-MSC– CC calciner, a rotary kiln with POLFLAME burner and a POLYTRACK cooler. A 270 m 3 coal silo was also installed. At Gujarat Ambuja Cement's Bhatapara plant, Chhattisgarh, the new 7000 tpd kiln line started production. The scope of the order included a 22.800t tangential blending silo for raw meal, the six-stage and two– string DOPOL '90 preheater with PREPOL AS-MSC calciner, a 12!5.4m x 82 m rotary kiln with a POLFLAME burner and a POLYTRACK clinker cooler. A coal silo was also constructed . After Polysius successfully modernized the grinding plants of kiln lines 3 and 4 at Vasavadatta Cement (a member company of Kesoram Industries Ltd) the company was awarded a follow-up order for the modernization of the cement grinding units of kiln lines 1 and 2 at its Sedam factory. In the case of kiln line 1, POLYCOM equipped with a SEPOL V-HR static-dynamic separator will be installed upstream of the existing ball mill. In the cement grinding plant of kiln line 2, the static separator will be replaced by SEPOL-HR separator. After conversion, the grinding plants will each produce 300t of cement per hour.
