Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) and clame (v) of sub-section (2) of section 3 of the aaid Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986) read with clause (d) of sub-rule (3) of rule 5 of the said EQvironment (Protection) Rules, 1986 the Central Governp1ent hereby makes the following further amendments in tbe Environment Impact Assessment Notification, 2006 namely:- ln the said Environment_ Impact Assessment'Notification, 2006.in paragraph 7 (i),- (a) in sub- paragraph II relating to Stage (2)- Scopin& in ~lause (i), in the first proviso, for item (ii), the following items shall be substituted, namely:- . '.'(ii) all Highway projects in .border States.covered un.der _entry (i) of column (3) and entry (i) of colwpn (4) against item 7 (t) of the Schedule; (iii) all Higbway expansio~ project$ covered under entry (ii) of column (3) and entry (ii) of · column (4) against item 7 (t) of the Sched!lle; (b) in sub-paragraph lli relating to Stage (3}- Pllblic Consu.ltation, in ciause (i), after sub-clause (f), the followmg sub-clause shall be inserted, namely:- "(g) all linear p!ojects such as Highways, pipelines, etc., in border States."
