Plants are equipped with preheater towers, either with or without a hot point, have lower air temperatures than kilns, and require a faster combust_ion in the flame. If this is the case, then the lack of volatile material needs to be compensated by £inner grinding. These are the reasons why Poittemill have studied modifications to pendulummills, and particularly for hard petcoke. This article explains the different upgrades that can be made. An increase of the grinding surface, the speed and the number of roller mills are the major modifications that have been made to meet these requirements. For difficult products with HGI (Hard Grove Index) < 40, it is sugges ted to raise the frequency of passage by increasing the grinding surfaces or the number of rollers.
