J. Raina, an eminent engineer of international repute, has taken over on 29/11/01 as Director General (Acting) of the National Council for Ceq1ent and Building Materials (NCB). Shri Raina took over charge from his predecessor, Shri D.B.N.Rao. An ME in ceramic engineering and gold medalist from the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Shri Raina has a varied and rich experience of over 30 years in R&D, prestigious projects in cementmanufacture and consultancy in related areas. Prior to assuming charge of this key position, Shri Raina held senior positions in NCB as also in cement industry consultancy organisations. 22 •
