The quorum for the meeting of the Authority shall be one-third of the total number of its Members. 4. A Member. other than an ex-officio Member, shall be paid allowances as per the norms fixed by the Central Government. 5. The Authority shall. for the purposes of protecting and improving the quality of the coastal environment and preventing, abating and controlling environmental pollution in the Coastal Regulation Zone areas in ttx! State of Tamil Nadu. take the following measures. namely:- (i) the Authority shal l. after receiving the application for approval of project proposal. examine the same if it is in accordance with the approved Coastal Zone Management Plan and complies with the requirements of the Coastal Regulation Zone notification issued by the Government of India in the Ministry of Environment and Forests vide number S.O. 19 (E). dated the 6 111 January. 20 11 (hereinafter referred to as the said notification), and make recommendations for approval of such project to the concerned authority. as specifJCd in the said notification, within a period of sixty days from date of receipt ofsuch application: (iil the Authority shall regulate all developmental activities in the Coastal Regulation Zone areas as specified in the said notification; (iii) the Authority shall primarily be responsible for enforcing and monitori ng the provisions of said notification: (IV) the Authority shall examine the proposals received from the State Government for changes or modifications in the classification of Coastal Regulation Zone areas and in the Coastal Zone Management Plan and make specific recommendations thereon. to the National Coastal Zone Management Authority: 77
