CENTRAL POLLUTION CONTROL BOARD (Ministry of Environment & Forests, Govt. of India) Parivesh Bhawan, East Arjun Nagar, Delhi -110032 OFFICE MEMORENDUM No. B-29012/2015-16/ESS(WG)/ April 23, 2015 Sub: Working Group for "Hannonization of Classification of industries under Red/Orange/Green/Non-Polluting Categories" During the Conference of the Environment Ministers of States held in New Delhi during April 06-07, 2015, it was resolved to adopt pollution criteria for categorization of Red, Orange & Green categories of industries and that a Committee be constituted with State representatives. Further, in the 59th Conference of Chairmen & Member Secretaries of Pollution Control Boards/PCCs held in New Delhi on April 08, 2015, it was agreed to constitute a Committee to look into categorization system of industries based on their respective pollution potential. Accordingly, the following Committee is hereby constituted to review & classify industrial sectors into different categories based on criteria of respective pollution potential: 1. Chairman, Central Pollution Control Board, Delhi Chairman 2. Chairman (or his nominee), AP Pollution Control Board Member 3. Chairman (or his nominee), Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board Member 4. Chairman( or his nominee), M. P. Pollution Control Board Member 5. Chairman( or his nominee), Maharashtra Pollution Control Board Member 6. Chairman(or his nominee), Punjab Pollution Control Board Member 7. Chairman( or his nominee), West Bengal Pollution Control Board Member 8. Member Secretary, Central Pollution Control Board Member Convener The Terms of Reference & Guidelines for the Committee are as follows: 1. The Committee will revisit the categorization of industries that is based on environmental issues such as generation of emission, effluent and hazardous wastes. -1/ 2- 71
