Seminars, Conferences, Meeting, deliberations are conducted/organized at scale but we all must admit and abide by the silent voice coming from within us that we as an individual are not consciously contributing positively to the subject. We believe that the time has come when the industry should act beyond mere complying statutory regulations. We are making this statement not with an intention of saying purpose only but because over a period of time, we are enlightened with the outcome of the projects taken out of passion to save environmental resources. Today JK Lakshmi Cement Ltd. (JKLCL) Kalol, Gujarat Grinding Unit stands as the lowest power consuming unit in its class in the Cement Industry. The Unit's state of art Rain Water Harvesting ATBASE E~ONMENT CONSISTS OF VARIOUS MICRO COMPONENTS SPREAD AROUND EACH OF US AND THEREFORE THERE IS DIRE NEED THAT EACH OF US EMBED NECESSARY ACTIONS TO CONSERVE RESOURCES WITHIN OUR CONTROL WITH A DETERMINATION THAT "LET US MAKE OUR PLANET, A BEITER PLANET, EVERY MOMENT" Arrangements have made the unit Water Positive Unit. The unit ensures that all wastes are recycled and used fully e.g. all bio -degradable solid wastes are converted into Vermi– composting with a process, which does not consumes electrical energy. JKLCL believes that the true Environmental Challenges can only be addressed effectively, AGENDA POINTS Industry should not comply with the statutory obligations, only with the purpose that no Show Cause Notice is issued, but has to look beyond that to ensure that there is conservation I protection of natural resources like water, energy, raw materials etc . in true sense. We as an individual should start analyzing critically all dimensions of our own life style to assess/ know impact on the environmental aspects to adopt I inculcate right habits/practices/decisi ons etc. in our day to day life. Industry should start devoting/investing some of their resources on school children to create awareness among them regarding environment protection and other related future challenges. .. 24
