1.7 Utilization of Paper Waste as an Alternate Fuel We have received the Paper waste - 10 MT per day from lTC Paper Company and we have instaiiHd the Multigo lift for shifting the material from ground floor to Preheater 3rd Floor with capacity of 2 MT and VFD Weigh feeder also fixed for continuous flow rate. Benefit: Reduced the Fossil fuels con~umption 1.8 Utilization of Alternate Fuel - Spent wash Process Description: Solvent based alternate liquid fuel is received in closed containers from the source to the site and is being unloaded to a storage tank through feed pumps. The stored solvent fuel is fed to the multichannel burner in Precalciner by a pump through a filter, motorized gate and flow of the fuel is being monitored by a flow meter installed in the line. Multichannel burner is specially designed to handle the alternate fuels such as liquid waste (oils) and any other liquid fuels having significant heat value. Equipment installed 1. Challenges • Separate storage tank needed for handling • Uniform flow without process disturbance • Availability • Cost • Increase in specific heat to evaporate moisture in spent wash Action • Separate Storage tanks were installed, which is facilitated easy unloading and continuous flow of spent to PC firing • Complete system consisting of flow meter, filtering and pumping units and firing nozzle was installed • Required flow was adjusted with VFD pump Storage Tanks for Spent Wash 8
