' I _, Smt. Vinita Singlwnia Dy. Managing Director L akshmi Cement . a division of J.K. Corp Ltd, is a 2.23 MTPA plant, si tuated in Jaykaypuram, Banas, Distt Sirohi. Rajasthan. It is a dry process plant comprising two units, Unit I of 1800 TPD capacity with 4-stage suspension preheater onl y. and Unit 11 comprising two kiln::. respecti vely of 2500 and 2800 TPD capacity with 6-stage suspension preheater and precalciner. The plant. through a . eries ofwell planned modi lication~ in its plant and machinery over a 17 year period, has achieved impressive gains in energy effi ciency tending to world benchmarks of energy consumption, apart from enhancing productivity. The present article succinctl y traces the course of this achievement. Unit- I Commbsioned in August 1982. the unit compri sed the following plant equipment to start wi th : + 4-stage suspension preheater + Crusher- Impact type, 450 TPH + Raw mill - Two-compartment , closed circuit ball mill , 130 TPH + Ki ln - 1500 TPD + Cooler - 3000 TPD + Coal mill - Two-compartment ball mill, 18 TPH + Cement mill - Three chambered ball mill. 85 TPH
