Purpose INDUSTRIAL ENERGY EFFICIENCY PROJECT LOAN ASSISTANCE OF US $150 MILLION FROM ASIAN DEVELOPMENT BANK IEEP is aimed at providing financial assistance to specific development projects in the private sector and eligible public sector industries by providing loans for energy efHciency purposes and related environmental improvernents to industrial enterprises in India. In order to encourage the industry in taking up such projects, lDBI has secured a Line of Credit aggregating US$ 150 mil. from tile Asian Development Dank (ADB). Eligibility Existing industrial concerns which fall under Section 2 (C) of lOBI Act are eligible for financial assistance. Energy efficiency projects which envisage improvement of at least 18% in energy efficiency on implementation are preferred. The energy efficiency improvement will be measured across specific equipment or manufacturing process replaced or modified. Extent of assistance Assistance under the scheme is be to the extent of 100% of the foreign currency cost and 50% of the local currency cost of goods and services required for the project. Balance assistance, if any, not covered under this line, is considered separately. Promoters contribution Minimum promoter's contribution of 25% of the cost of the project is envisaged.
