ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION & RESOURCE MANAGEMENT USE OF ALTERNATE FUELS IN M/S ULTRATECH CEMENT LIMITED (UNIT:- VIKRAM CEMENT WORKS) - By Dr. B.N. Mohapatra & Chander Shekhar, Vikram Cement Works, UltraTech Cement Ltd., Neemuch Nestled in 'Malwa' region of western Madhya Pradesh, bordering Rajasthan, is Vikram Cement Works (VCW), the flagship unit of Cement Business of Aditya Birla Group, UltraTech Cement . The unit produces 4 MTPA of Grey Cement and Clinker. The unit is a pioneer in TPM implementation in Indian subcontinent and is the first cement plant in India to obtain IS014001 EMS Certification. a symbol of 'Sustainable Industrial Development' in western part of Madhya Pradesh. VCW started single line in the year 1985. Later Li ne-2 and line 3 were established in 1987 and 1991. 46 MW captive thermal power plants have been added to ensure reliability and cost of power.
