02 I am happy to present the July - December 2024 issue of the CMA Journal CEMENT, ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENT. The period witnessed the culmination of another annual UN Climate Change Conference-COP29 in the Azerbaijan capital Baku, that agreed to triple the finance to developing countries, which as seen in the past, would fail to deliver if the premiums are not paid in full, and on time! Good thing is, India on its own is walking the talk in its drive to be Net Zero. In this endeavour, CMA and India's Cement industry is aligned with the Government of India's goal of Net Zero by 2070. This issue of the journal has covered articles on a plethora of topics ranging from technological improvements and inhouse innovation, promising technologies for further CO 2 reduction to ESG as an imperative for the Indian Cement I ndustry.
