Vikram Cement, Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh

Vikram Cement Works started using alternate fuel in its Cement Kiln from 2007 onwards working with the MPPCB & CPCB. The plant used the following alternative fuels for co-processing:

The alternative fuel feeding system at the Vikram Cements plant is capable of handling various types of Non Hazardous and Hazardous wastes such as Paint sludge, Opium marc and ETP sludge and feeding it into a pre-calciner in a controlled manner.

  • A fully automated plastic waste shredder machine has been installed at a cost of Rs. 20 lakhs, in which trucks loaded with plastic waste can be directly unloaded on to the hoppers.
  • From the hoppers plastic waste is transported through a small covered belt conveyor to the shredder, which shreds the waste into very small pieces.
  • The shredded plastic waste is pneumatically conveyed to closed storage bunkers.
  • The plastic waste is then transported through a covered conveyor belt of alternate fuel feeding system which feeds the shredded waste into the cement manufacturing process.
